After making an ACTS Retreat, it is recommended and encouraged for all to become involved in a specific Apostolic Service for a period of one year. The service may be given in one's own parish, in a Diocesan Apostolate or in an Apostolate sponsored by the Church through one of its Institutions.

PACE Baton Rouge (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is a non-profit health and supportive services program designed to assist seniors who want an alternative to long-term care placement. PACE is sponsored by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the LA Dept of Health and Hospitals.
Our Lady of Mercy visits once a week to offer spiritual service in the form of praying the Rosary with and bringing the Eucharist to the Catholic seniors there. OLOM volunteers visit on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30. There are anywhere from 8 – 12 seniors who participate, some are not all are able to verbally recite rosary with the group, but do what they can. Currently this ministry includes three people who serve, each taking a week. There is currently an opening for the second Wednesday of the month and the fifth Wednesday of the month (which only occurs sometimes).
If you are interested in serving in this ministry, contact Peppy Root.
